Kashmir Jiffy 5 Days
As a poet whilst referring to Kashmir – once said “if there is heaven on Earth , it is this, it is this “. Kashmir is amongst one of those surreal most beautiful parts of the world where nature is at her utmost glory. It is nestled amongst the mighty snowcapped Himalayas which are visible everywhere in their most awesome grandeur/ has beautiful gleaming lakes –all creating a picturesque landscape on earth known as Kashmir often referred to as Indias Switzerland.
Itinerary
DAY 01 SRINAGAR ARRIVAL
- On arrival at Srinagar airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel/houseboat.
- Sightseeing covering the Mughal Gardens / Nishat Bagh/ Shalimar Bagh situated on the banks of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Hills in the background.
- Later enjoy a shikara ride on the serene Dal Lake encompassed by the mighty snowclad Himalayas.
- Enjoy some kahwa- the traditional Kashmiri tea on own during the shikara ride as you pass by flower sellers/ shawl and saree vendors all in similar shikaras. Return to hotel/houseboat
- Overnight Srinagar
Day 02 SRINAGAR TO GULMAR ( 56 KMS- 2 HOURS)
- After breakfast drive to Gulmarg ( meadow of flowers ) situated at 2730 metres above sea level.
- The drive past saffron and rice fields is very scenic, pass through Tangmarg a small picturesque market town. Gulmarg is famous for its ski slopes and the highest golf course with 18 holes. Weather permitting you can view the Nanga Parbat on a clear day.
- Checkin to hotel and later leave for the Gondola ride (cable car) to Kangdori/Alpatar (at your own cost).
- Gulmarg has Asia`s highest and longest cable car. Its a two-stage ropeway. The first stage transfers from Gulmarg to Kangdori Station. The second stage takes skiers to a height of 3,747 m (12,293 ft). The timing of the Gondola is 10 AM to 5 PM (It`s highly dependent upon the weather at both stages).
- Later you can enjoy a pony ride or just walk around or visit Khilanmarg (a picnic spot nearby) a fragrant valley, full of color and charm). Vehicles cannot be used within Gulmarg
- Overnight Gulmarg.
DAY 03 GULMARG TO PAHALGAM ( 151 KMS-5 HOURS)
- After breakfast drive to Pahalgam via the saffron fields of Pampore, the marvelous ruins of Avantipura. Sample a few breads sold by roadside vendors near the village of Bijbehara.
- Driving through Anantnag you see the beautiful Lidder river flowing and shepherds grazing their cattle. Indeed this is one of the most scenic parts of Kashmir.
- Arrive and checkin to hotel
- Overnight Pahalgam.
DAY 04 PAHALGAM TO SRINGAR ( 96 KMS-3 HOURS)
- Today after breakfast checkout and leave for sightseeing covering the beautiful Betaab valley.
- Drive to Srinagar and checkin to hotel.
- Evening shopping around Broadway or the local markets for souveniers.
Overnight Srinagar
Day 05 Departure Srinagar
After breakfast you are dropped off to Srinagar airport to board your return flight back
