The most colorful state of India is known for its glorious past, rich culture, age old traditions and a heritage to boast about.
The vast deserts, the mystic ranges, the magnificient palaces and the forts with tales to tell and vibrant colors all around.
The state of Rajasthan has lots to boast of with sand dunes and palaces, lakes and mountains to make your trip memorable.
Itinerary
Day 01 / Arrival Jaipur
- Today you arrive intoJaipur and are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
- Jaipur the capital city of Rajasthan is also known as the Pink city of India. Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is famous for its handicrafts and precious and semiprecious stones.
- Later proceed to visit the City Palace in the afternoon, which is still the formal residence of the royal family. Also visit the museum in the City Palace that has the private collection of Jaipur Maharajas.
- Also visit Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, which is the largest of Jai Singh`s five remarkable observatories.
- Overnight in the hotel.
Day 02 / Jaipur
- After breakfast proceed to visit the Amber Fort, located 11 kilometers away from Jaipur.
- En-route, visit the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds for a photo stop.
- Amber was the ancient capital of Kachawaha dynasty before Jai Singh founded Jaipur. Ride an elephant to reach the gates of the fort ( optional). Visit the closeby Jaigarh Fort which is located on a mountain and provides a great view of Jaipur city and the biggest attraction here is the Jaivana Cannon.
- Later return to hotel and evening at leisure or you can choose to optionally visit Chokhidhani an ethnic Rajasthani village theme restaurant.
- Overnight Jaipur
Day 03 / Jaipur – Bikaner (321 kms/7 – 8 hrs)
- After breakfast drive to Bikaner the city surrounded by the Thar Desert & checkin to hotel in Bikaner.
- The city is known for the 16th-century Junagarh Fort, a huge complex of ornate buildings and halls. Visit the museum in the fort
- Continue to the nearby Karni Mata Temple popularly known as the Rat Temple as it is home to many rats & considered sacred by Hindu devotees.
- Later visit Fort, Lallgarh Palace and in the evening visit the the Camel Breeding Farm & please check the timings so that it is not missed.
- Overnight Bikaner.
Day 04 / Bikaner – Jaisalmer (332 kms/7 – 8 hrs)
- After breakfast you leave for the Golden City Of Jaisalmer in the heart of the Thar Desert , it is distinguished by its yellow sandstone architecture.
- Dominating the skyline is Jaisalmer Fort, a sprawling hilltop citadel buttressed by 99 bastions.
- Check in to your hotel and evening visit the Sam Sand Dunes & enjoy a camel ride in the sunset.
- Overnight Jaisalmer
Day 05 / Jaisalmer
- Today morning after breakfast visit the beautiful Jaisalmer Fort , this is the only fort where there are people still living in it, enjoy the views
- Later sightseeing covering the famous Patwon Ki Haveli . People still live in these ancient buildings dating from 12th to 15th century. Every house has exquisite carvings and filigreed work.
- Also visit the Gadisar Lake and the Jain temple.
- Evening enjoy the local markets and shop for some souveniers
- Overnight Jaisalmer.
Day 06 / Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (285 kms/6-7 hrs)
- Today after breakfast you leave for Jodhpur second largest city in Rajasthan, also known as the blue city as most of the houses of the old city are painted blue.
- The old city is surrounded by a 10 km long wall, which has 101 bastions and seven gates. Arrive and checkin to your hotel
- Later leave for sightseeing covering the majestic Mehrangarh Fort which was built on a steep hill. The fort is among the best in India with exquisitely latticed windows in residential complexes.
- Continue to the Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph built in white marble, the Umaid Bhavan Palace Museum.
- Evening at leisure to enjoy the colourful bazaars
- Overnight Jodhpur
Day 07 / Jodhpur – Udaipur (259 kms/6 hrs)
- Morning drive to Udaipur.
- En-route visit Ranakpur Jain pilgrimage destination known for its exquisitely carved Jain temples and most famous hall of 1444 pillars.
- Later leave for Udaipur the most romantic city of Rajasthan dotted with fairy-tale palaces and massive forts. Popularly named as the city of Lakes. Checkin to your hotel.
- Evening visit Lake Pichola or Fatehsagar and enjoy a boat ride.
- Later visit Bagore ki Haveli for the puppet show ( on own) and get a taste of Rajasthani Folk dances. Return to hotel.
- Overnight Udaipur.
Day 08 / Udaipur City tour
- Today after breakfast begin your sightseeing with the spectacular City Palace, check out the Crystal Gallery. enjoy the Vintage Classic Car Collection of the Maharaja,
- Drive past the Rana Pratap Smarak, Sahelion ki Bari.
- Visit the Shilpgram Enjoy shopping in the colourful bazaars for beautiful artefacts , jewellery and mementos.
- If you have energy left and you can make it to the Sajjangarh Fort for a view of the sunset, return to hotel
- Overnight Udaipur.
Day 09 / Udaipur Departure
- Morning check out from hotel and transfer to Udaipur airport/railway station for onward journey
